India’s first 3G Mobile TV Launched by MTNL

3G Mobile TV - MPEG4 quality

Mahanagar Telehone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) today announced the launch of India’s first 3G Mobile TV with MPEG4 picture quality in association with Aksh Optifier Ltd .

This 3G Mobile TV service by MTNL offered to its 3G mobile subscribers in Delhi and Mumbai cirrcle.Presently MTNL offing Mobile TV and Live TV to its 2G and 3G GSM subscribers in Mumbai and Delhi in association with content provider Apalya Technology.

Alcatel-Lucent Mobile Streaming Server (pvServer); for MTNL 3G TV is an Turn-key solution to launch video services on 2.5G and 3G networks. The Mobile Streaming Server supports all types of standard-based media formats and dynamic switching from high-bit rate to low-bit rate streaming based on network coverage and bandwidth availability.

ZTE to Invest in indian 3G market

China-based telecom equipment and network solutions provider ZTE is now planning more investments in its research and design (R&D) centre.
They plans to invest up to Rs. 200 crore in the R&D centre in Bangalore
ZTE registered 50 per cent increase in our sales. They currently enjoy over 75 per cent market share for NGN (next generation) products and are also the market leaders in CDMA category.
ZTE has recently announced that they are going to invest heavily in this growing 3G market.
ZTE plan to capture about 10-15 per cent market share in the 3G space. To meet the evolving requirements, they plan to make targeted investments in 2G, 3G, bearer network and fixed line broadband in India.
Huawei, Nokia Siemens Network and a couple of other networking giants are all investing heavily in India
